an ALTEREGO

Hello dude :D



last night was awesome, I met two of my ex-band's members. we had a good time talking about music and life we passed. anyway, I haven't hangout with them for about 3 years then we meet again, last night.

we talked about music, since one of my friend had joined a local band so called Life Again, his name is Dimas a.k.a Midas. and the other one is Shiwa. we were in a band (Superpuss) we played some kinds of genres such as:

• Post-Hardcore
• Emo
• Punk Rock
• Alternative

but that band lasted only in a couple of months.
anyway, we 're having our own business, Dimas has joined Life Again while study in a University (PAKUAN Bogor), Shiwa also studies in a University (in Bandung), and Me, I'm working in a Garment Factory (PT. Daehan Global).. so we have no time to meet and hangout together.


last night, I gave them few albums of Between The Buried And Me, and they seemed interested in that kind of music, just like me.

so, make it straight....

recently, I'm listening to Between The Buried And Me, Andy McKee... yeah, it's my Alter Ego..
Metal-Technical-Core, I called BTBAM's Genre.. and Acoustic for Andy McKee..

I think I'm not as perfect as them playing music/instruments.. But I think I can do at least better to do like them ;)
I'm on fire to have my own Metal-Technical-Core band, or Solo acoustic career :D

akhirnya, dapet juga DVD ini!!!


Masih ‘bingung’ dan ‘terlena’ dengan Between The Buried And ME (BTBAM), band asal North Carolina – USA ini benar-benar sempurna (menurut saya), bagaimana menurut kalian??..

Anyway,, kali ini saya mau berbagi tentang DVD Live-nya BTBAM yg berjudul Colors_Live DVD (pastinya dengan bonus track).


Saya tidak mendapatkan DVD-nya di toko-toko yang ada di daerah Bogor, atau juga di e-bay, saya mendapatkannya di torrent. Hehehe..

COLORS LIVE

Tidak seperti DVD music Live lainnya yang memiliki intro atau kalimat sambutan dari si ‘pembuat’, DVD BTBAM berbeda. Track pertama mereka berjalan seperti dalam album Colors sebagai berikut:

1. "Foam Born (a) The Backtrack"
2. "(b) The Decade of Statues"
3. "Informal Gluttony"
4. "Sun of Nothing"
5. "Ants of the Sky"
6. "Prequel to the Sequel"
7. "Viridian"
8. "White Walls"



Bagi yang sudah mendengarkan album BTBAM –COLORS yang hampir tidak ada spasi dari lagu satu ke lagu yang lainnya pasti akan berpikir “bagaimana kalo mereka live ya, nyambung ga ya, bagus ga ya”… ya, 100% sama seperti di album, dari lagu satu ke yang lainnya nyambung dan tanpa ada space/gap ditiap perpindahan lagu..

Berikut ini adalah chapter2 favorit saya di dalam DVD Live ini:

Track 1. "Foam Born (a) The Backtrack"

Yang terlihat hanya layar gelap dan suara penonton yang terdengar ramai, dan suara distorsi yang sudah “ter-setting” di computer terdengar dari belakang panggung, dan personil BTBAM pun masuk panggung. Ketika mereka berada diatas panggung, tak satu kata pun keluar dari mulut sang Vokalis, Tommy Roger. Seketika distorsi pun berhenti, Tommy Rogers pun langsung memainkan piano-nya dalam Foam Born, disitu dia hanya menyabut penonton dengan “Hi, we are Between The Buried And Me”… dan Foam Born pun diteruskan dengan lirik.



Track 2. "(b) The Decade of Statues"

Lagu ini adalah lagu sambungan dari lagu "Foam Born (a) The Backtrack".. awal lagu ini pun langsung terasa nuansa deathcore-nya BTBAM.. “I just keep waiting, you just keep waiting”..



Track 3. "Informal Gluttony"

Setelah dentuman drum terakhir dari lagu kedua, lagu ini pun langsung dimulai dengan intro-nya yang terasa seperti di hutan, dan sangat turun sekali tempo BTBAM ketika masuk ke Reff.



Track 4. "Sun of Nothing"

Lagi, lagu ini sangat sempurna untuk didengar. J recommended..



Track 4. "Ants of the Sky"

Ya, kalo ga Jazzy berarti bukan BTBAM, kalian pasti akan mendengarkan solo-nya si Paul di lagu ini… perfect!!


Sisa lagunya sama dan sangat mirip seperti di album, bahkan soundnya lebih jelas ketika Live ;)


Buat yang lebih suka lagu2 lama mereka, didalam DVD ini juga terdapat bonus track/second set sebagai berikut:

2. "Shevanel Cut a Flip"
3. "Backwards Marathon"
4. "Ad a Dglgmut"

Sudah lumayan lama saya tidak posting, kali ini saya mau berbagi band-band yang lumayan buat jadi referensi kalian untuk didengarkan :)

Dulu, awalnya saya sangat suka sekali denga lick-lick gitar pada musik beraliran Punk-Rock(sekarang juga masih), band pertama yang sangat saya suka waktu saya SMP dulu itu Blink182(band dengan formasi-nya cuma ber-tiga dan simple untuk didengarkan, dan waktu itu sok pengen keren walaupun ga bisa, haha). Selera pun berubah setelah teman saya memberikan CD yg isinya sama sekali saya ga tau, band-band itu seperti: Rufio, No Use For A Name, StrungOut, LagWagon, dan masih banyak lagi. sempet suka banget sama Saosin juga, dan bahkan saya punya semua lagu mereka, dari yg EP sampai yg LP-nya. ga kerasa, saya jatuh cinta sama genre yg lain, progressive, acoustic, instrumental, dan Mathcore.
band- band yg membuat saya bengong waktu mendengarnya antara lain: The Sound Of Animals Fighting, Coheed and Cambria, At the Drive-in (sekarang The Mars Volta), Between The Buried And Me, dan Protest The Hero, my fave :)

Rufio

Rufio, band yang satu ini selalu saya suka, sampai sekarang. yaaa walaupun sempet ga suka juga waktu mereka ganti formasi. tapi album-album mereka selalu saya update, bahkan buat 2010 sekarang ini saya sudah punya album Anybody Out There. pokoknya mantep buat yang suka beat yg pop-punk.

The Sound Of Animals Fighting

The Sound Of Animals Fighting, kalo kalian suka beat yg aga aneh dan tempo yg naik-turun, cocok bgt dengerin band ini, dengan Anthony Green (ex. Saosin) dari Circa Survive, dan Craig Owens dari Chiodos sebagai vocals-nya, ditambah lagi gabungan dari personel-personel band lainnya yg membuat band ini memang patut diacungi jempol.

Mae

Mae, band ini juga mantep buat didenger, easy-listening, and cool bgt, saya udah punya semua album mereka, bahkan tiga EP mereka juga saya punya semua seperti : (m)orning, (a)fternoon, (e)vening. semua lagunya bagus, harus dengar.

Coheed and Cambria

Coheed and Cambria, band ini ternyata band tua loh, dan ternyata Saosin dan My Chemical Romance itu band pembuka (opening act) mereka. gilaaaa!!. harus dengerin lagu-lagu dari mereka, dijamin puas, dengan lyrics yg mantep, ditambah lagi riff gitar yang lumayan berat, 100% guarantee.

Cinematic Sunrise

Cinematic Sunrise, ga banyak penjelasan sama band ini, terlalu banyak kenangan :)
I do love this band so much, harus didengarkan. sayangnya mereka hanya berniat membuat single album..

Protest The Hero

Protest The Hero, ini band favorit saya :) .. dari awal denger sampe sakarang, ga ada bosen-nya, awal pertama denger itu judulnya Bloodmeat, mantep banget komposisi di lagu ini, semua personel punya kelebihan masing-masing, bisa dibilang kalo mereka tuh DreamTheather versi muda. Vocal-nya hi-pitch, bahkan kata ibu-nya temen saya vocal-nya PTH itu terdengar kaya Vocal-nya Queen, hhmmm. aga mirip memang suaraya. Mathcore, emang bener bgt nih Genre, Matematika, mungkin pusing, Genre ini juga pusing, riff gitar-nya ga ketebak, bahkan drum-nya juga gajelas maunya apa, mantep!! harus dengar..

HOW TO READ TABLATURE

Actually, I didn't know how to read Tabs or even music scales. I used to download the simple tabs from the internet, now I want to share how to start with the simple things in guitar tabs. here's how it works...





Firstly, people will think that tabs start on the top strings, but actually not.
here's the simple picture:







these pictures show you how to start with the tabs.

it's a simple. aite??
now I'll give you the Legends of tabs, here they are:

PM : Palm Mute (stroke and hold your palm among the stings) the sounds will be; jap-jap-jap or even no sound at all, it's depends on your palm.




/= slide : slide your finger on the string and move to another octave or higher-lower voice.

PH : Pinch Harmonics, its a quite difficult technique, it needs lot of practice, actually, it is simple, just hold your Pick and make a single stroke while your thumb hold the stroked string, ex:





now, try to read it..



when you start to read the tab, for sure, you should know and get used to the song that you try to play!! it's totally different with music scale, TAB HAS NO TIMING!!..

just try and lot of practice...
